The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.4.101, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 101 of Antya-khanda chapter 4—“Descriptions of Shri Acyutananda’s Pastimes and the Worship of Shri Madhavendra”.

যাঙ্হার মাযায জীব পাসরি’ আপনা বদ্ধ হৈ’ পাইযাছে সংসার-বাসনা ॥ ১০১ ॥
याङ्हार मायाय जीव पासरि’ आपना बद्ध है’ पाइयाछे संसार-वासना ॥ १०१ ॥
yāṅhāra māyāya jīva pāsari’ āpanā baddha hai’ pāiyāche saṃsāra-vāsanā || 101 ||
yanhara mayaya jiva pasari’ apana baddha hai’ paiyache samsara-vasana (101)
English translation:
(101) The living entities have forgotten who they are. They have become
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
conditioned and have developed material desires simply by the influence of His illusory energy.
In the Caitanya-caritāmṛta (Madhya 20.117) it is stated:
kṛṣṇa bhuli’ sei jīva anādi-bahirmukha ataeva māyā tāre deya saṃsāra-duḥkha
“Forgetting Kṛṣṇa, the living entity has been attracted by the external feature from time immemorial. Therefore the illusory energy [māyā] gives him all kinds of misery in his material existence.”
