The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.2.282, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 282 of Antya-khanda chapter 2—“Description of the Lord’s Travel Through Bhuvaneshvara and Other Placesto Jagannatha Puri”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.2.282:

মহাতীর্থ-বহে যথা নদী বৈতরণী যাঙ্র দরশনে পাপ পলায আপনি ॥ ২৮২ ॥

महातीर्थ-वहे यथा नदी वैतरणी याङ्र दरशने पाप पलाय आपनि ॥ २८२ ॥

mahātīrtha-vahe yathā nadī vaitaraṇī yāṅra daraśane pāpa palāya āpani || 282 ||

mahatirtha-vahe yatha nadi vaitarani yanra darasane papa palaya apani (282)

English translation:

(282) The most sacred Vaitaraṇī River flows past this place. One’s sinful reactions flee away upon seeing this river.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The word vaitaraṇīin this verse refers to the Vaitaraṇī River. Yājapura,

also known as Nābhi-gayā, is situated in the place known as Virajā-kṣetra on the bank of this river.
