The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.1.268, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 268 of Antya-khanda chapter 1—“Meeting Again at the House of Shri Advaita Acarya”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.1.268:

যদ্যপি স্বতন্ত্র আমি স্বতন্ত্র-বিহার তথাপিহ ভক্ত-বশ-স্বভাব আমার ॥ ২৬৮ ॥

यद्यपि स्वतन्त्र आमि स्वतन्त्र-विहार तथापिह भक्त-वश-स्वभाव आमार ॥ २६८ ॥

yadyapi svatantra āmi svatantra-vihāra tathāpiha bhakta-vaśa-svabhāva āmāra || 268 ||

yadyapi svatantra ami svatantra-vihara tathapiha bhakta-vasa-svabhava amara (268)

English translation:

(268) “Although I am fully independent and My activities are also independent, it is My nature to be controlled by My devotees.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (9.4.66) it is stated:

mayi nirbaddha-hṛdayāḥ sādhavaḥ sama-darśanāḥ

vaśe kurvanti māṃ bhaktyā sat-striyaḥ sat-patiṃ yathā

“As chaste women bring their gentle husbands under control by service, the pure devotees, who are equal to everyone and completely attached to Me in the core of the heart, bring Me under their full control.”
