The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.1.97, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 97 of Antya-khanda chapter 1—“Meeting Again at the House of Shri Advaita Acarya”.

ভক্তি-শূন্য সর্ব দেশ, না জানে কীর্তন কারো মুখে নাহি কৃষ্ণ-নাম-উচ্চারণ ॥ ৯৭ ॥
भक्ति-शून्य सर्व देश, ना जाने कीर्तन कारो मुखे नाहि कृष्ण-नाम-उच्चारण ॥ ९७ ॥
bhakti-śūnya sarva deśa, nā jāne kīrtana kāro mukhe nāhi kṛṣṇa-nāma-uccāraṇa || 97 ||
bhakti-sunya sarva desa, na jane kirtana karo mukhe nahi krsna-nama-uccarana (97)
English translation:
(97) All those places were devoid of devotional service. No one knew anything about kīrtana, and no one ever uttered the name of Kṛṣṇa.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
Being conditioned by matter, people averse to Kṛṣṇa totally forget His service. Therefore, rather than engage in glorifying Kṛṣṇa, they pass their days discussing worldly topics. Since they reject hari-kīrtana, they become engrossed in sense gratification and are thus unable to utter the name of Kṛṣṇa. The absence of topics related to Kṛṣṇa in a desert devoid of devotional service results in the absence of the flood of ecstatic love.
