The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.26.178, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 178 of Madhya-khanda chapter 26—“Descriptions of the Mercy Bestowed on Shuklambara and Vijay and the Lord’s Desire to Accept Sannyasa”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.26.178:

এই মত আপ্ত-বৈষ্ণবের স্থানে স্থানে `শিখা-সূত্র ঘুচাইমু’ বলিলা আপনে ॥ ১৭৮ ॥

एइ मत आप्त-वैष्णवेर स्थाने स्थाने `शिखा-सूत्र घुचाइमु’ बलिला आपने ॥ १७८ ॥

ei mata āpta-vaiṣṇavera sthāne sthāne `śikhā-sūtra ghucāimu’ balilā āpane || 178 ||

ei mata apta-vaisnavera sthane sthane `sikha-sutra ghucaimu’ balila apane (178)

English translation:

(178) In this way the Lord personally informed His intimate devotees, “I will give up My śikhā and brāhmaṇa thread.”
