The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.26.169, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 169 of Madhya-khanda chapter 26—“Descriptions of the Mercy Bestowed on Shuklambara and Vijay and the Lord’s Desire to Accept Sannyasa”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.26.169:

শিখা-সূত্র সর্বথায আমি না রাখিব মাথা মুডাইযা যে-তে দিকে চলি’ যাব” ॥ ১৬৯ ॥

शिखा-सूत्र सर्वथाय आमि ना राखिब माथा मुडाइया ये-ते दिके चलि’ याब” ॥ १६९ ॥

śikhā-sūtra sarvathāya āmi nā rākhiba māthā muḍāiyā ye-te dike cali’ yāba” || 169 ||

sikha-sutra sarvathaya ami na rakhiba matha mudaiya ye-te dike cali’ yaba” (169)

English translation:

(169) “I will certainly give up My śikhā and brāhmaṇa thread. After shaving My head, I will go wherever I please.”
