The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.17.39, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 39 of Madhya-khanda chapter 17—“The Lord’s Wandering Throughout Navadvipa and Descriptions of the Devotees’ Glories”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.17.39:

“তুমি কেনে ধরিলা আমার কেশ-ভারে?” নিত্যানন্দ বলে,—“কেনে যাহ মরিবারে” ॥ ৩৯ ॥

“तुमि केने धरिला आमार केश-भारे?” नित्यानन्द बले,—“केने याह मरिबारे” ॥ ३९ ॥

“tumi kene dharilā āmāra keśa-bhāre?” nityānanda bale,—“kene yāha maribāre” || 39 ||

“tumi kene dharila amara kesa-bhare?” nityananda bale,—“kene yaha maribare” (39)

English translation:

(39) “Why did You grab My hair?” Nityānanda replied, “Why did You try to kill Yourself?”
