The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.11.16, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 16 of Madhya-khanda chapter 11—“The Characteristics of Nityananda”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.11.16:

নিত্যানন্দ বলে,—“ইহা পাগলে সে করে এ ছলায ঘরে ভাত না দিবে আমারে? ॥ ১৬ ॥

नित्यानन्द बले,—“इहा पागले से करे ए छलाय घरे भात ना दिबे आमारे? ॥ १६ ॥

nityānanda bale,—“ihā pāgale se kare e chalāya ghare bhāta nā dibe āmāre? || 16 ||

nityananda bale,—“iha pagale se kare e chalaya ghare bhata na dibe amare? (16)

English translation:

(16) Nityānanda said, “Only a madman acts like that. This is Your trick to deprive Me from eating rice.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

After hearing His faults pointed out by Mahāprabhu, Śrī Nityānanda said, “Only madmen act in such a way. But it is not proper for You to cheat Me from enjoying My food on the pretext that I must stop playing mischief.”
