The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.8.255, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 255 of Madhya-khanda chapter 8—“The Manifestation of Opulences”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.8.255:

কেহ বলে,—“আত্ম বিনা সাক্ষাত্ করিযা ডাকিলে কি কার্য হয, না জানিল ইহা ॥ ২৫৫ ॥

केह बले,—“आत्म विना साक्षात् करिया डाकिले कि कार्य हय, ना जानिल इहा ॥ २५५ ॥

keha bale,—“ātma vinā sākṣāt kariyā ḍākile ki kārya haya, nā jānila ihā || 255 ||

keha bale,—“atma vina saksat kariya dakile ki karya haya, na janila iha (255)

English translation:

(255) Someone said, “They have not realized the self. They do not know what their loud calling will yield.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

Someone said, “Without realizing one’s self, how will one benefit by simply calling out, “Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa”?
