Verse 2.8.245

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.8.245:

কেহ বলে,—“কালি হৌক যাইব দেযানে কাঙ্কালে বান্ধিযা সব নিব জনে জনে ॥ ২৪৫ ॥

केह बले,—“कालि हौक याइब देयाने काङ्काले बान्धिया सब निब जने जने ॥ २४५ ॥

keha bale,—“kāli hauka yāiba deyāne kāṅkāle bāndhiyā saba niba jane jane || 245 ||

keha bale,—“kali hauka yaiba deyane kankale bandhiya saba niba jane jane (245)

English translation:

(245) Someone said, “Let tomorrow come and we will go to the court and

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

have each and every one of them tied around the waist and arrested. Someone said, “Tomorrow we will submit a complaint against them in the court. Those engaged in sinful activities behind closed doors will

have their hands tied behind their backs and be taken away.”

The word deyāne (from the Persian word dīvān) means “royal assembly,” “religious court,” or “court.”

The word kāṅkāla means “the waist” or “middle of the body.”
