The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.7.23, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 23 of Madhya-khanda chapter 7—“The Meeting of Gadadhara and Pundarika”.

চাটিগ্রামে জন্ম বিপ্র পরম পণ্ডিত পরম-স্বধর্ম সর্ব-লোক-অপেক্ষিত ॥ ২৩ ॥

चाटिग्रामे जन्म विप्र परम पण्डित परम-स्वधर्म सर्व-लोक-अपेक्षित ॥ २३ ॥

cāṭigrāme janma vipra parama paṇḍita parama-svadharma sarva-loka-apekṣita || 23 ||

catigrame janma vipra parama pandita parama-svadharma sarva-loka-apeksita (23)

English translation:

(23) “He took birth in Caṭṭagrāma and is a greatly learned brāhmaṇa. He is expert in following his religious duties and is honored by all.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

He was honored by all. Since he was a learned scholar, he was respected by all students. The brāhmaṇas highly regarded him because he was prosperous. Knowing him to be most pious, ordinary people learned religious principles from him.
