The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.4.59, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 59 of Madhya-khanda chapter 4—“Revelation of Nityananda’s Glories”.
Verse 2.4.59
Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.4.59:
গদাধর বলে,—“ভাল বলিলা পণ্ডিত সেই বুঝি, যেন রাম-লক্ষ্মণ-চরিত” ॥ ৫৯ ॥
गदाधर बले,—“भाल बलिला पण्डित सेइ बुझि, येन राम-लक्ष्मण-चरित” ॥ ५९ ॥
gadādhara bale,—“bhāla balilā paṇḍita sei bujhi, yena rāma-lakṣmaṇa-carita” || 59 ||
gadadhara bale,—“bhala balila pandita sei bujhi, yena rama-laksmana-carita” (59)
English translation:
(59) Gadādhara said, “O Paṇḍita, whatever you have said is correct. I think Their characteristics resemble those of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.”
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
Gadādhara said, “Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita has spoken the truth. I think Their sentiments are also similar to those aroused when Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa met each other.”
