Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.3.173:

সর্বথাশ্রীবাস আদি তাঙ্র তত্ত্ব জানে না হৈল দেখা কোন কৌতুক-কারণে ॥ ১৭৩ ॥

सर्वथाश्रीवास आदि ताङ्र तत्त्व जाने ना हैल देखा कोन कौतुक-कारणे ॥ १७३ ॥

sarvathāśrīvāsa ādi tāṅra tattva jāne nā haila dekhā kona kautuka-kāraṇe || 173 ||

sarvathasrivasa adi tanra tattva jane na haila dekha kona kautuka-karane (173)

English translation:

(173) Devotees like Śrīvāsa certainly know the truth regarding Nityānanda, but for some curious reason they could not find Him.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

There are many mysteries in the pastime of unsuccessfully searching for Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu exhibited by the eternally perfect associates of the Lord like Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita. Baladeva Prabhu hid Himself and did not show His form to Haridāsa and Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita. He has thereby shown that the eternal Absolute Truth cannot be seen through external practice or designation.
