The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.3.38, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 38 of Madhya-khanda chapter 3—“The Lord Manifests His Varaha Form in the House of Murari and Meets with Nityananda”.

বাখানযে বেদ, মোর বিগ্রহ না মানে সর্ব অঙ্গে হৈল কুষ্ঠ, তবু নাহি জানে ॥ ৩৮ ॥

वाखानये वेद, मोर विग्रह ना माने सर्व अङ्गे हैल कुष्ठ, तबु नाहि जाने ॥ ३८ ॥

vākhānaye veda, mora vigraha nā māne sarva aṅge haila kuṣṭha, tabu nāhi jāne || 38 ||

vakhanaye veda, mora vigraha na mane sarva ange haila kustha, tabu nahi jane (38)

English translation:

(38) “He explains the Vedas but does not accept My form. His entire body is afflicted with leprosy, yet he does not come to his senses.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

“Although Prakāśānanda explains the Upaniṣads and other Vedic literatures, he does not accept the eternal existence of the Lord’s spiritual

form. As a result, he became an offender and his entire body was afflicted with leprosy. Still, his knowledge has not awakened.”
