The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.3.33, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 33 of Madhya-khanda chapter 3—“The Lord Manifests His Varaha Form in the House of Murari and Meets with Nityananda”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.3.33:

অতএব তুমি সে তোমারে জান’ মাত্র তুমি জানাইলে জানে তোর কৃপা-পাত্র ॥ ৩৩ ॥

अतएव तुमि से तोमारे जान’ मात्र तुमि जानाइले जाने तोर कृपा-पात्र ॥ ३३ ॥

ataeva tumi se tomāre jāna’ mātra tumi jānāile jāne tora kṛpā-pātra || 33 ||

ataeva tumi se tomare jana’ matra tumi janaile jane tora krpa-patra (33)

English translation:

(33) “Therefore only You know Yourself. Others can know You only if You reveal Yourself to them.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (2.9.32) it is stated:

yāvān ahaṃ yathā-bhāvo yad-rūpa-guṇa-karmakaḥ tathaiva tattva-vijñānam astu te mad-anugrahāt

“All of Me, namely My actual eternal form and My transcendental existence, color, qualities and activities—let all be awakened within you by factual realization, out of My causeless mercy.” Even if a conditioned soul lives in the abode of the Lord, his ignorance about the prowess of the Lord is not vanquished. Only those who are favored by the Lord can understand all these topics. This is confirmed in the following words: yam evaiṣa vṛṇute tena labhyas tasyaiṣa ātmā vivṛṇute tanūṃ svām—“The Lord is obtained only by one whom He Himself chooses. To such a person He manifests His own form.”
