The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.177, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 177 of Madhya-khanda chapter 2—“The Lord’s Manifestation at the House of Shrivasa and the Inauguration of Sankirtana”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.177:
প্রভু বলে,—“মোর সে দুঃখের অন্ত নাই পাইযা ও হারাইনু জীবন-কানাই” ॥ ১৭৭ ॥
प्रभु बले,—“मोर से दुःखेर अन्त नाइ पाइया ओ हाराइनु जीवन-कानाइ” ॥ १७७ ॥
prabhu bale,—“mora se duḥkhera anta nāi pāiyā o hārāinu jīvana-kānāi” || 177 ||
prabhu bale,—“mora se duhkhera anta nai paiya o harainu jivana-kanai” (177)
English translation:
(177) The Lord said, “There is no end to My distress, because after achieving Kānāi, the Lord of My life, I then lost Him.”
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
The phrase jīvana-kānāi refers to Kānu (Nanda-nandana), who is one’s very life.
