The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.1.275, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 275 of Madhya-khanda chapter 1—“The Beginning of the Lord’s Manifestation and His Instructions on Krishna-sankirtana”.

অধ্যযন ছাডিলে সে যদি ভক্তি হয বাপ-মাতামহ কি তোমার ‘ভক্ত’ নয? ॥ ২৭৫ ॥

अध्ययन छाडिले से यदि भक्ति हय बाप-मातामह कि तोमार ‘भक्त’ नय? ॥ २७५ ॥

adhyayana chāḍile se yadi bhakti haya bāpa-mātāmaha ki tomāra ‘bhakta’ naya? || 275 ||

adhyayana chadile se yadi bhakti haya bapa-matamaha ki tomara ‘bhakta’ naya? (275)

English translation:

(275) “If by giving up studies one becomes a devotee, then were Your father and grandfather not devotees?
