The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.1.244, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 244 of Madhya-khanda chapter 1—“The Beginning of the Lord’s Manifestation and His Instructions on Krishna-sankirtana”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.1.244:

“কিবা কৃষ্ণ প্রকাশ হৈলা সে শরীরে? কিবা সাধু-সঙ্গে, কিবা পূর্বের সংস্কারে?” ॥ ২৪৪ ॥

“किबा कृष्ण प्रकाश हैला से शरीरे? किबा साधु-सङ्गे, किबा पूर्वेर संस्कारे?” ॥ २४४ ॥

“kibā kṛṣṇa prakāśa hailā se śarīre? kibā sādhu-saṅge, kibā pūrvera saṃskāre?” || 244 ||

“kiba krsna prakasa haila se sarire? kiba sadhu-sange, kiba purvera samskare?” (244)

English translation:

(244) “Has Kṛṣṇa manifested in His body? Is this the result of devotees’ association or because of previous purificatory processes?”
