The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.1.223, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 223 of Madhya-khanda chapter 1—“The Beginning of the Lord’s Manifestation and His Instructions on Krishna-sankirtana”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.1.223:

“গর্ভ-বাস-দুঃখ প্রভু, এহো মোর ভাল যদি তোর স্মৃতি মোর রহে সর্ব-কাল ॥ ২২৩ ॥

“गर्भ-वास-दुःख प्रभु, एहो मोर भाल यदि तोर स्मृति मोर रहे सर्व-काल ॥ २२३ ॥

“garbha-vāsa-duḥkha prabhu, eho mora bhāla yadi tora smṛti mora rahe sarva-kāla || 223 ||

“garbha-vasa-duhkha prabhu, eho mora bhala yadi tora smrti mora rahe sarva-kala (223)

English translation:

(223) “I do not mind the miseries of living in the womb provided I can constantly remember You.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

“O Lord, although the extremely miserable conditions within the womb are intolerable and heart-rending, if my constant remembrance of You remains intact while suffering such extremely miserable conditions, then they are most praiseworthy, desirable, relishable, and wish-fulfilling.”

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (1.8.25) Queen Kuntī prays to Lord Kṛṣṇa as follows:

vipadaḥ santu tāḥ śaśvat tatra tatra jagad-guro bhavato darśanaṃ yat syād apunar bhava-darśanam

“I wish that all those calamities would happen again and again so that we could see You again and again, for seeing You means that we will no longer see repeated births and deaths.”
