The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.1.60, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 60 of Madhya-khanda chapter 1—“The Beginning of the Lord’s Manifestation and His Instructions on Krishna-sankirtana”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.1.60:

পরম-অদ্ভুত কথা, মহা অসম্ভব ‘নিমাই-পণ্ডিত হৈলা পরম বৈষ্ণব’ ॥ ৬০ ॥

परम-अद्भुत कथा, महा असम्भव ‘निमाइ-पण्डित हैला परम वैष्णव’ ॥ ६० ॥

parama-adbhuta kathā, mahā asambhava ‘nimāi-paṇḍita hailā parama vaiṣṇava’ || 60 ||

parama-adbhuta katha, maha asambhava ‘nimai-pandita haila parama vaisnava’ (60)

English translation:

(60) “A most wonderful and most impossible incident has occurred: Nimāi Paṇḍita has become the greatest Vaiṣṇava.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

“The same Nimāi Paṇḍita who a few days before was the crest jewel of logicians and who ridiculed the Vaiṣṇavas with caricatures and teasing words has now become a great Vaiṣṇava.”
