The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.16.289, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 289 of Adi-khanda chapter 16—“The Glories of Shri Haridasa Thakura”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.16.289:

কেহ আপনারে মাত্র করযে পোষণ কেহ বা পোষণ করে সহস্রেক জন ॥ ২৮৯ ॥

केह आपनारे मात्र करये पोषण केह वा पोषण करे सहस्रेक जन ॥ २८९ ॥

keha āpanāre mātra karaye poṣaṇa keha vā poṣaṇa kare sahasreka jana || 289 ||

keha apanare matra karaye posana keha va posana kare sahasreka jana (289)

English translation:

(289) “One person may maintain himself, while another may maintain a thousand people.
