The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.15.85, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 85 of Adi-khanda chapter 15—“Marriage with Shri Vishnupriya”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.15.85:

শিরে মালা, সর্ব-অঙ্গে লেপিযা চন্দনে এক-বাটা তাম্বূল সে দেন একো জনে ॥ ৮৫ ॥

शिरे माला, सर्व-अङ्गे लेपिया चन्दने एक-बाटा ताम्बूल से देन एको जने ॥ ८५ ॥

śire mālā, sarva-aṅge lepiyā candane eka-bāṭā tāmbūla se dena eko jane || 85 ||

sire mala, sarva-ange lepiya candane eka-bata tambula se dena eko jane (85)

English translation:

(85) Garlands were placed on their heads, their bodies were smeared with sandalwood paste, and each brāhmaṇa was given a box of pan.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The word bāṭā refers to a container or box for keeping pan.
