The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.13.7, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 7 of Adi-khanda chapter 13—“Defeating Digvijayi”.

যদ্যপিহ সবেই স্বতন্ত্র, সবার জয শাস্ত্র-চর্চা হৈলে ব্রহ্মারেহ নাহি সয ॥ ৭ ॥

यद्यपिह सबेइ स्वतन्त्र, सबार जय शास्त्र-चर्चा हैले ब्रह्मारेह नाहि सय ॥ ७ ॥

yadyapiha sabei svatantra, sabāra jaya śāstra-carcā haile brahmāreha nāhi saya || 7 ||

English translation:

(7) These scholars were all independent and so victorious in debating scriptures that they disregarded persons as learned as Lord Brahmā.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

Everyone put forward their independent opinions and endeavored to defeat others. They had no patience to hear the opinion of others in scriptural topics and even disregarded the conclusions of scholars who were as learned as Lord Brahmā. They tried to defeat the most respectable scholars through their arguments.
