The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.12.284, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 284 of Adi-khanda chapter 12—“The Lord’s Wandering Throughout Navadvipa”.

হৈল পাপিষ্ঠ-জন্ম, না হৈল তখনে! হৈলাঙ বঞ্চিত সে-সুখ-দরশনে! ॥ ২৮৪ ॥
हैल पापिष्ठ-जन्म, ना हैल तखने! हैलाङ वञ्चित से-सुख-दरशने! ॥ २८४ ॥
haila pāpiṣṭha-janma, nā haila takhane! hailāṅa vañcita se-sukha-daraśane! || 284 ||
haila papistha-janma, na haila takhane! hailana vancita se-sukha-darasane! (284)
English translation:
(284) My sinful birth did not take place at that time! Therefore I was cheated from seeing those pastimes!
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
The author, who is the incarnation of Śrī Vyāsa, the spiritual master of the entire world, and a Vaiṣṇava ācārya, is teaching the example of humility by lamenting in the following way: “Alas! Such an unfortunate birth as mine did not take place during the transcendental pastimes of Śrī Gaurasundara, so I was not fortunate enough to see those ecstatic pastimes!” Materialist persons take birth in order to enjoy the fruits of their respective past misdeeds, but if such births take place during the manifest pastimes of the Lord, they become glorious by seeing those pastimes though they have taken abominable births.
