The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.12.257, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 257 of Adi-khanda chapter 12—“The Lord’s Wandering Throughout Navadvipa”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.12.257:

চন্দ্র-তারা-গণ বা বলিব, সেহো নয সকলঙ্ক,—তা’র কলা ক্ষয-বৃদ্ধি হয ॥ ২৫৭ ॥

चन्द्र-तारा-गण वा बलिब, सेहो नय सकलङ्क,—ता’र कला क्षय-वृद्धि हय ॥ २५७ ॥

candra-tārā-gaṇa vā baliba, seho naya sakalaṅka,—tā’ra kalā kṣaya-vṛddhi haya || 257 ||

candra-tara-gana va baliba, seho naya sakalanka,—ta’ra kala ksaya-vrddhi haya (257)

English translation:

(257) I cannot compare that scene with the moon surrounded by stars, because the moon has spots and it also waxes and wanes.
