The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.12.174, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 174 of Adi-khanda chapter 12—“The Lord’s Wandering Throughout Navadvipa”.

অথবা দেবতা কোন আসিযা কৌতুকে পরীক্ষিতে আমারে বা ছলে বিপ্র-রূপে ॥ ১৭৪ ॥

अथवा देवता कोन आसिया कौतुके परीक्षिते आमारे वा छले विप्र-रूपे ॥ १७४ ॥

athavā devatā kona āsiyā kautuke parīkṣite āmāre vā chale vipra-rūpe || 174 ||

athava devata kona asiya kautuke pariksite amare va chale vipra-rupe (174)

English translation:

(174) “Otherwise He may be a demigod who has come disguised as a brāhmaṇa to test me.
