The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.12.16, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 16 of Adi-khanda chapter 12—“The Lord’s Wandering Throughout Navadvipa”.
Verse 1.12.16
Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.12.16:
“আজি ঘরে গিযা ভাল-মতে পুঙ্থি চাহ কালি বুঝিবাঙ ঝাট আসিবারে চাহ” ॥ ১৬ ॥
“आजि घरे गिया भाल-मते पुङ्थि चाह कालि बुझिबाङ झाट आसिबारे चाह” ॥ १६ ॥
“āji ghare giyā bhāla-mate puṅthi cāha kāli bujhibāṅa jhāṭa āsibāre cāha” || 16 ||
“aji ghare giya bhala-mate punthi caha kali bujhibana jhata asibare caha” (16)
English translation:
(16) “Go home for today and study your books carefully. Come early tomorrow and we’ll discuss further.”
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
The word bujhibāṅa means “I will test you by analysis.”
