The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.11.39, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 39 of Adi-khanda chapter 11—“Meeting with Shri Ishvara Puri”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.11.39-40:

দেখি’ প্রভু জিজ্ঞাসেন গোবিন্দের স্থানে “এ বেটা আমারে দেখি’ পলাইল’ কেনে?” গোবিন্দ বোলেন,—“আমি না জানি, পণ্ডিত! আর কোন-কার্যে বা চলিল কোন্-ভিত” ॥ ৩৯-৪০ ॥

देखि’ प्रभु जिज्ञासेन गोविन्देर स्थाने “ए बेटा आमारे देखि’ पलाइल’ केने?” गोविन्द बोलेन,—“आमि ना जानि, पण्डित! आर कोन-कार्ये वा चलिल कोन्-भित” ॥ ३९-४० ॥

dekhi’ prabhu jijñāsena govindera sthāne “e beṭā āmāre dekhi’ palāila’ kene?” govinda bolena,—“āmi nā jāni, paṇḍita! āra kona-kārye vā calila kon-bhita” || 39-40 ||

dekhi’ prabhu jijnasena govindera sthane “e beta amare dekhi’ palaila’ kene?” govinda bolena,—“ami na jani, pandita! ara kona-karye va calila kon-bhita” (39-40)

English translation:

(39-40) Seeing this, the Lord inquired from Govinda, “Why did this boy run away upon seeing Me?” Govinda replied, “O Paṇḍita, I don’t know. Perhaps he went somewhere for some work.”

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The Govinda referred to in this verse is not the blacksmith Govinda; he was the Lord’s associate, servant, and doorkeeper at that time.
