The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.11.35, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 35 of Adi-khanda chapter 11—“Meeting with Shri Ishvara Puri”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.11.35:

যদি কেহ দেখে,—প্রভু আইসেন দূরে সবে পালাযেন ফাঙ্কি-জিজ্ঞাসার ডরে ॥ ৩৫ ॥

यदि केह देखे,—प्रभु आइसेन दूरे सबे पालायेन फाङ्कि-जिज्ञासार डरे ॥ ३५ ॥

yadi keha dekhe,—prabhu āisena dūre sabe pālāyena phāṅki-jijñāsāra ḍare || 35 ||

yadi keha dekhe,—prabhu aisena dure sabe palayena phanki-jijnasara dare (35)

English translation:

(35) If any of them saw the Lord coming in the distance, they would run away out of fear of being challenged.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

Fearful of uselessly wasting time in insignificant material arguments, the devotees of the Lord always avoided coming face to face with Nimāi. In order to avoid meeting Him, they kept a distance from Him.
