Verse 1.9.227

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.9.227:

নিত্য শুদ্ধ জ্ঞানবন্ত বৈষ্ণব-সকল তবে যে কলহ দেখ, সব কুতুহল ॥ ২২৭ ॥

नित्य शुद्ध ज्ञानवन्त वैष्णव-सकल तबे ये कलह देख, सब कुतुहल ॥ २२७ ॥

nitya śuddha jñānavanta vaiṣṇava-sakala tabe ye kalaha dekha, saba kutuhala || 227 ||

nitya suddha jnanavanta vaisnava-sakala tabe ye kalaha dekha, saba kutuhala (227)

English translation:

(227) Vaiṣṇavas are always pure and full of knowledge, so if there is ever

any quarrel between them you should know it is simply part of their pastimes.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

It should be understood that the apparent act of quarreling on the pretext of criticizing Nityānanda by the pure devotees of Gaura, headed by Advaita, is meant to awaken the living entities’ interest and increase their service attitude towards Nityānanda, because all of Śrī Gaura’s devotees are eternally pure and endowed with pure transcendental knowledge.

Ignorance, such as dualities, aversion, or opposition to Viṣṇu and the Vaiṣṇavas, cannot remain in them.
