The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.9.51, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 51 of Adi-khanda chapter 9—“Nityananda’s Childhood Pastimes and Travels to Holy Places”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.9.51:

লক্ষ্মণের ভাবে প্রভু হয সেই-রূপ বুঝিতে না পারে শিশু মানযে কৌতুক ॥ ৫১ ॥

लक्ष्मणेर भावे प्रभु हय सेइ-रूप बुझिते ना पारे शिशु मानये कौतुक ॥ ५१ ॥

lakṣmaṇera bhāve prabhu haya sei-rūpa bujhite nā pāre śiśu mānaye kautuka || 51 ||

laksmanera bhave prabhu haya sei-rupa bujhite na pare sisu manaye kautuka (51)

English translation:

(51) Lord Nityānanda was absorbed in the mood of Lakṣmaṇa. The boys, however, could not understand this and thought it was just a game.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In this verse the word bhāve means “in the mood of” or “in the nature of.”
