The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.6.128, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 128 of Adi-khanda chapter 6—“The Lord Begins Studying and His Childhood Mischief”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.6.128:

সবেই প্রশংসে,—“ভাল নিমাই চতুর ভাল এডাইলা আজি মারণ প্রচুর!” ॥ ১২৮ ॥

सबेइ प्रशंसे,—“भाल निमाइ चतुर भाल एडाइला आजि मारण प्रचुर!” ॥ १२८ ॥

sabei praśaṃse,—“bhāla nimāi catura bhāla eḍāilā āji māraṇa pracura!” || 128 ||

sabei prasamse,—“bhala nimai catura bhala edaila aji marana pracura!” (128)

English translation:

(128) They all praised Him, saying, “Nimāi, You are very clever. You have escaped a good beating today.”

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The word māraṇa means “to beat.”
