The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.5.104, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 104 of Adi-khanda chapter 5—“Eating the Mendicant Brahmana’s Offerings”.

কোটি ভক্ষ্য-দ্রব্য যদি থাকে নিজ-ঘরে কৃষ্ণ-আজ্ঞা হৈলে সে খাইবারে পারে যে-দিনে কৃষ্ণের যারে লিখন না হয কোটি যত্ন করুক, তথাপি সিদ্ধ নয ॥ ১০৪-১০৫ ॥
कोटि भक्ष्य-द्रव्य यदि थाके निज-घरे कृष्ण-आज्ञा हैले से खाइबारे पारे ये-दिने कृष्णेर यारे लिखन ना हय कोटि यत्न करुक, तथापि सिद्ध नय ॥ १०४-१०५ ॥
koṭi bhakṣya-dravya yadi thāke nija-ghare kṛṣṇa-ājñā haile se khāibāre pāre ye-dine kṛṣṇera yāre likhana nā haya koṭi yatna karuka, tathāpi siddha naya || 104-105 ||
koti bhaksya-dravya yadi thake nija-ghare krsna-ajna haile se khaibare pare ye-dine krsnera yare likhana na haya koti yatna karuka, tathapi siddha naya (104-105)
English translation:
(104-105) “One may have unlimited foodstuffs at home, but he can eat only with Kṛṣṇa’s sanction. If Kṛṣṇa does not allot anything on some day, then even by endless endeavor one will never achieve a thing.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
Though one may have various foodstuffs at home for Kṛṣṇa’s enjoyment, if He does not sanction His remnants, no one will receive them. And if Kṛṣṇa does not favor one, then one will certainly be unsuccessful in spite of unlimited endeavors. Service to the Supreme Lord is dependent on the mercy of the Supreme Lord. Mundane endeavor cannot produce success.
