The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.4.114, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 114 of Adi-khanda chapter 4—“Name-giving Ceremony, Childhood Pastimes, and Thieves Kidnap the Lord”.

কেহ মনে ভাবে,—“মুঞি নিমু তাড-বালা” এই-মতে দুই চোরে খায মনঃ-কলা ॥ ১১৪ ॥
केह मने भावे,—“मुञि निमु ताड-बाला” एइ-मते दुइ चोरे खाय मनः-कला ॥ ११४ ॥
keha mane bhāve,—“muñi nimu tāḍa-bālā” ei-mate dui core khāya manaḥ-kalā || 114 ||
keha mane bhave,—“muni nimu tada-bala” ei-mate dui core khaya manah-kala (114)
English translation:
(114) One of them thought, “I will take the bangles.” And in this way they both dreamt of their soon-to-be-acquired riches.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
The words tāḍa and bālā refer to certain ornaments worn on the hands. The words khāya manaḥ-kalā mean “to eat imaginery bananas,” or, in other words, to futilely endeavor to achieve something.
