The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.4.101, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). This is verse 2.4.101 contained in Chapter 4—Vaikuntha (the spiritual world)—of Part two (prathama-khanda).

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration, Word-for-word and English translation of verse 2.4.101:

तात्रत्यैर् बहिर् आगत्य तैर् हसद्भिर् अहं मुहुः ।
स्नेहार्द्र-हृदयैर् उक्तः सिक्षयद्भिर् इव स्फुटम् ॥ १०१ ॥

tātratyair bahir āgatya tair hasadbhir ahaṃ muhuḥ |
snehārdra-hṛdayair uktaḥ sikṣayadbhir iva sphuṭam || 101 ||

tatratyaiḥ–by the residents of that place; bahiḥ–outside; āgatya–having come; taiḥ–by them; hasadbhiḥ–laughing; aham–I; muhuḥ–repeatedly; sneha–with affection; ārdra–melting; hṛdayaiḥ–with hearts; uktaḥ–said; śikṣayadbhiḥ–by the teachers; iva–as if; sphuṭam–clearly.

When the residents of Vaikuṇṭha would hear my songs, they would come out laughing. With hearts melting in affection, they would instruct me very clearly and frankly.

Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda

(By Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)

Actually, the topics of those childhood pastimes were not of interest to Bhagavān’s Vaikuṇṭha servants.
