The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.3.122, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). गौडे गङ्गा-तते जातो मथुरा-ब्राह्मणोत्तमः ।
जयन्त-नाम कृष्णस्यावतारस् ते महान् गुरुः ॥ १२२ ॥

gauḍe gaṅgā-tate jāto mathurā-brāhmaṇottamaḥ |
jayanta-nāma kṛṣṇasyāvatāras te mahān guruḥ || 122 ||

gauḍe–in Bengal; gaṅgā-taṭe–on the bank of the Gaṅgā; jātaḥ–born; mathurā-brāhmaṇa-uttamaḥ–a transcendental Mathurā brāhmaṇa; jayanta-nāmā–named Jayanta; kṛṣṇasya–of Śrī Kṛṣṇa; avatāraḥ–an incarnation; te–your; mahān–exalted; guruḥ–spiritual guide.

You have received as your exalted guru the incarnation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa named Jayanta. He is a high-class Mathurā brāhmaṇa born on the banks of the Gaṅgā in Gauḍadeśa (Bengal).

The Vaikuṇṭha pārṣadas continue, “Your exalted guru is an incarnation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.”
