The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.2.18, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). This is verse 2.2.18 contained in Chapter 2—Jnana (knowledge)—of Part two (prathama-khanda).

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration, Word-for-word and English translation of verse 2.2.18:

सन्तु वा कतिचिद् दोषास् तान् अहं गणयामि न ।
तादृशं जगद्-ईशस्य सन्दर्शन-सुखं भजन् ॥ १८ ॥

santu vā katicid doṣās tān ahaṃ gaṇayāmi na |
tādṛśaṃ jagad-īśasya sandarśana-sukhaṃ bhajan || 18 ||

santu–there must be; –or; katicit–some; doṣāḥ–defects; tān–them; aham–I; gaṇayāmi–consider; na–not; tādṛśam–such; jagat-īśasya–of the Lord of all worlds; sandarśana–due to the sight; sukham–happiness; bhajan–feeling.

There were also some defects in Svarga, but I paid them no heed because I was overwhelmed by the bliss of seeing Śrī Bhagavān.

Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda

(By Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)

Śrī Gopa-kumāra says, “I witnessed some rivalry and other anomalies in the demigods’ dealings with each other. However, because I was experiencing the indescribable pleasure of devotional service in seeing my Lord, I simply ignored those faults.”
