The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 1.5.121, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). This is verse 1.5.121 contained in Chapter 5—Priya (the beloved devotees)—of Part one (prathama-khanda).

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration, Word-for-word and English translation of verse 1.5.121:

पादारविन्द-द्वन्द्वं यः प्रभोः संवाहयन् मुदा ।
ततो निद्रा-सुखाविष्टः शेते स्वाङ्के निधाय तत् ॥ १२१ ॥

pādāravinda-dvandvaṃ yaḥ prabhoḥ saṃvāhayan mudā |
tato nidrā-sukhāviṣṭaḥ śete svāṅke nidhāya tat || 121 ||

Śrī Uddhava, who becomes overwhelmed with sleep while massaging the lotus feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, still keeps the lotus feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa in his lap as he happily sleeps.

Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda

(By Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)

In this way, he experiences even the bliss of sleeping through the massaging of the lotus feet of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, that is, even in the immersion in sleep he keeps the lotus feet of the Lord in his lap and then happily sleeps. Even at the time of sleeping he does not undergo separation from Śrī Bhagavān.
