The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 1.3.75, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). This is verse 1.3.75 contained in Chapter 3—Prapancatita (beyond the Material Plane)—of Part one (prathama-khanda).

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration, Word-for-word and English translation of verse 1.3.75:

त्वत्-ताततो मद् गरुडादितश् च श्रियोऽपि कारुण्य-विशेष-पात्रम् ।
प्रह्राद एव प्रथितो जगत्या कृष्णस्य भक्तो नितरां प्रियश् च ॥ ७५ ॥

tvat-tātato mad garuḍāditaś ca śriyo'pi kāruṇya-viśeṣa-pātram |
prahrāda eva prathito jagatyā kṛṣṇasya bhakto nitarāṃ priyaś ca || 75 ||

O Nārada, more than your father Brahmā, eternal associates such as Garuḍa, Mahālakṣmī, or even me, Śrī Prahlāda is the recipient of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s mercy. This fact is well-known throughout the world. Therefore, Śrī Prahlāda alone is Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s topmost devotee.

Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda

(By Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)

Therefore, you should follow the example of Śrī Prahlāda. With this intent, he recites the verse beginning with tvat (your).

“More than I, your father Brahmā, Garuḍa, Śeṣa and other eternal Vaikuṇṭha associates such as Viśvakseṇa and even Mahālakṣmī, who are recipients of the supreme mercy of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Śrī Prahlāda alone is celebrated throughout the world. Therefore, he is that one-pointed devotee of Śrī Kṛṣṇa most dear to Him.”
