Praśna 12, Kaṇḍikā 14

1. The Adhvaryu should pile up Dhiṣṇya-mounds with the earth out of the cātvāla.

2. With the formula, “Thou art the expanding, the carrier,”^[1] the Adhvaryu should pile up the Dhiṣṇya of the Āgnīdhra in the Āgnīdhra fire-chamber within the Mahāvedi.^[2]

3. In all cases^[3] he should join the formula, “O Agni, guard me with thy dreadful countenance; content me; do not injure me.”^[4]

4. With the formula, “Thou art the bearer, the carrier of oblation,”^[5] the Adhvaryu should pile up the Dhiṣṇya of the Hotṛ on the pṛṣṭhyā to the rear of the hollow (= the eastern door) of the Sadas.

5. With the formula, “Thou art savoury, the wise,”^[6] the Dhiṣṇya of the Praśāstṛ (= Maitrāvaruṇa) to the south of that of the Hotṛ.

6. He should prepare the other Dhiṣṇyas to the north of that of the Hotṛ.

7. With the formula,“Thou art Tutha, the all-knower,”^[7] (he should pile up the Dhiṣṇya) of the Brāhmaṇācchaṃsin;

8. with the formula, “Thou art Uśij, the wise,”^[8] that of the Potṛ;

9. with the formula,“Thou art Aṅghāri, Bambhāri,”^[9] that of the Neṣṭṛ;

10. with the formula, “Thou art the seeker of aid, the worshipper,”^[10] that of the Acchāvāka.

11. With the formula, “Thou art a purifier, the Mārjālīya,”^[11] (the Adhvaryu should prepare) the Mārjālīya in the southern half of the Mahāvedi,^[12] opposite to the Āgnīdhra’s Dhiṣṇya.
