yadi bhaktebhya eva mokṣaṃ dadāsi nābhaktebhyastarhi tavāpi kiṃ rādadveṣādikṛtaṃ vaiṣamyamasti ? netyāha samo'hamiti | samo'haṃ sarveṣvapi bhūteṣu | ato me mama priyaśca dveṣyaśca nāstyeva | evaṃ satyapi ye māṃ bhajanti te bhaktā mayi vartante | ahamapi teṣvanugrāhakatayā varte | ayaṃ bhāvaḥ yathā agneḥ svalevakeṣveva tamaḥśītādiduḥkhamapākurvato'pi na vaiṣamyam | yathā kalpavṛkṣasya | tathaiva bhaktapakṣapātino'pi mama vaiṣamyaṃ nāstyeva | kintu madbhakterevāyaṃ mahimeti ||29||

yadi bhaktānevānugṛhṇāsi nābhaktān | tato rāgadveṣavattvena kathaṃ parameśvaraḥ syā iti netyāha samo'hamiti | sarveṣu prāṇiṣu samastulyo'haṃ sadrūpeṇa sphuraṇarūpeṇānandarūpeṇa ca svābhāvikenaupādhikena cāntaryāmitvena | ato namama dveṣaviṣayaḥ prītiviṣayo kaścidasti sāvitrasyeva gaganamaṇḍalavyāpinaḥ prakāśāsya | tarhi kathaṃ bhaktābhaktayoḥ phalavaiṣamyaṃ tatrāha ye bhajanti tu ye tu bhajanti sevante māṃ sarvakarmasamarpaṇarūpayā bhaktyā | abhaktāpekṣayā bhaktānāṃ viśeṣadyotanārthastuśabdaḥ | ko'sau ? mayi te ye madarpitairniṣkāmaiḥ

nanu bhaktāneva vimuktīkṛtya svaṃ prāpayasi | na tvabhaktāniti cettarhi tavāpi kiṃ rāgadveṣādikṛtaṃ vaiṣamyamasti ? netyāha samo'hamiti | te bhaktā mayi vartante'hamapi teṣu varta iti vyākhyāne bhagavatyeva sarvajagadvartata eva | bhagavānapi sarvajagatsu vartata eveti nāsti viśeṣaḥ | tasmātye yathā māṃ prapadyante tāṃstathaiva bhajāmyaham [Gītā 4.11] iti nyāyena | mayi te āsaktā bhaktā vartante yathā tathāhamapi teṣvāsakta iti vyākhyeyam | atra kalpavṛkṣādidṛṣṭāntastvekāṃśenaiva jñeyaḥ | na hi kalpavṛkṣaphalākāṅkṣayā tadāśritā āsajjanti | nāpi kalpavṛkṣaḥ svāśriteṣvāsaktaḥ
| nāpi sa āśritasya vairiṇo dveṣṭi | bhagavāṃstu svabhaktavairiṇaṃ svahastenaiva hinasti | yaduktaṃ prahrādāya yadā druhyeddhaniṣye'pi varorjitam [BhP 7.4.28] iti kecittu tukārasya bhinnopakramārthatvamākhyāya bhaktavātsalyalakṣaṇaṃ tu vaiṣamyaṃ mayi vidyata eveti tacca bhagavato bhūṣaṇaṃ, na tu dūṣaṇamiti vyācakṣate | tathā hi bhagavato bhaktavātsalyameva prasiddham | na tu jñānivātsalyaṃ yogivātsalyaṃ , yathā hyanyo janaḥ svadāseṣveva vatsalo nānyadāseṣu, tathaiva bhagavānapi svabhakteṣveva vatsalo na rudrabhakteṣu nāpi devībhakteṣviti ||29||

nanu bhaktāneva vimocyāntikaṃ nayasi | nābhaktāniti tavāpi kiṃ sarveśvarasya rāgadveṣakṛtaṃ vaiṣamyamasti ? tatrāha samo'hamiti | devamanuṣyatiryaksthāvarādiṣu jātyākṛtisvabhāvairviṣameṣu sarveṣu bhūteṣu tattatkarmānuguṇyena sṛṣṭipālanakṛtsarveśvaro'haṃsamaḥ parjanya iva nānāvidheṣu tattadbījeṣu, na teṣu me ko'pi dveṣyaḥ priyo vetyarthaḥ | bhaktānāmabhaktebhyo viśesaṃ bodhayitumiha tuśabdaḥ | ye tu māṃ bhajanti śravaṇādibhaktibhiranukūlayanti, te bhaktyānuraktyā mayi vartante | teṣvahaṃ
ca sarveśvaro'pi bhaktyā varte, maṇisuvarṇanyāyena bhagavato'pi bhakteṣu bhaktirasti | bahgavān bhaktabhaktimānityādi śrīśukavākyāditi premṇā mitho vartanaviśeṣo darśitaḥ | anyathā tvaviśeṣāpattiḥ | tasya pratijñā tvīdṛśyevāvagamyate ye yathā māmityādinā | kalpadrumadṛṣṭānto'pyatrāṃśika eva | tatra mithaḥ prītyaapratīteḥ pakṣapātāpratīteśca | tathā ca sarvatrāviṣame'pi mayi svāśritavātsalyalakṣaṇaṃ vaiṣamyamastītyuktam | evamāha sūtrakāraḥ upapadyate cābhyupalabhyate ca [Vs 2.1.37] iti |

nanu bhakterapi karmatvānusāreṇa teṣu tadvātsalyānna tallakṣaṇe taditi | cenmaivametat | svarūpaśaktivṛtterbhakteḥ karmānyatvāt | śrutiśca saccidānandaikarase bhaktiyoge tiṣṭhati [GTU 2.78] iti | na ca svarūpaprayuktatvāddūṣaṇametaditi vācyam | guṇaśreṣṭhatvena stūyamānatvāt ||29||
