yacchedvāṅmanasī prājñas
tadyacchejjñāna ātmani |
jñānamātmani mahati niyacchet

indriyebhyaḥ parā hyarthā arthebhyaśca paraṃ manaḥ |
manasastu parā buddhirbuddherātmā mahān paraḥ ||
mahataḥ paramavyaktamavyaktātpuruṣaḥ paraḥ |

tatra gavādiṣviva vāṅnirodhaḥ prathamā bhūmiḥ | bālamugdhādiṣviva nirmanastvaṃ dvitīyā | tandryāmivāhaṅkārarāhityaṃ tṛtīyā | suṣuptāviva mahattattvaśāntātmanormadhye mahattattvopādānamavyākṛtākhyaṃ tattvaṃ śrutyodāhāri, tathāpi tatra mahattattvasya niyamanaṃ nābhyadhāyi | suṣuptāviva svarūpalayaprasaṅgāt | tasya ca karmakṣaye sati puruṣaprayatnamantareṇa svata eva siddhatvāttattvadarśanānupayogitvācca | dṛśyate tvamagrayā buddhyā sūkṣmayā sūkṣmadarśibhiḥ iti pūrvamabhidhāya sūkṣmatvasiddhaye nirodhasamādherabhidhānāt | sa ca tattvadidṛkṣordarśanasādhanatvena dṛṣṭatattvasya ca
jīvanmuktirūpakleśakṣayāyāpekṣitaḥ |

nanu śāntātmanyavaruddhasya cittasya vṛttirahitatvena suṣuptivanna darśanahetutvamiti cet, na | svataḥsiddhasya darśanasya nivārayitumaśakyatvāt | taduktaṃ

ātmānātmākāraṃ svabhāvato'sthitaṃ sadā cittam |
ātmaikākāratayā tiraskṛtānātmadṛṣṭiṃ vidadhīta ||

yathā ghaṭa utpadyamānaḥ svato viyatpūrṇaṃ evotpadyate | jalataṇḍulādipūraṇaṃ tūtpanne ghaṭe paścātpuruṣaprayatnena bhavati | tatra jalādau niḥsārite'pi viyanniḥsārayituṃ na śakyate | mukhapidhāne'pyantarviyadavatiṣṭhata eva tathā cittamutpadyamānaṃ caitanyapūrṇamevotpadyate | utpanne tu tasminmūṣāniṣiktadrutatāmravadghaṭaduḥkhādirūpatvaṃ bhogahetudharmādharmasahakṛtasāmagrīvaśādbhavati | tatra ghaṭaduḥkhādyanātmākāre virāmapratyayābhyāsena nivārite'pi nirnimittaścidākāro vārayituṃ na śakyate | tato nirodhasamādhinā nirvṛttikena cittena saṃskāramātraśeṣatayātisūkṣmatvena nirupādhikacidātmamātrābhimukhatvād

antimaṃ kṛtyamāha dhṛtigṛhītayā dhāraṇāvaśīkṛtyā buddhyā mana ātmasaṃsthaṃ kṛtvātmānaṃ dhyātvā samādhāvuparameta tiṣṭhet | ātmano'nyatkiṃcidapi na cintayet | etacca śanaiḥ śanairabhyāsakrameṇa, na tu haṭhena ||25||
