evaṃbhūteśvaropāsakānāṃ phalamāha tadbuddhaya iti | tasminneva buddhirniścayātmikā yeṣām | tasminnetātmā mano yeṣām | tasminneva niṣṭhā tātparyaṃ yeṣām | tadeva paramayamamāśrayo yeṣām | tataśca tatprasādalabdhenātmajñānena nirdhūtaṃ nirastaṃ kalmaṣaṃ yeṣām | te'punarāvṛttiṃ muktiṃ yānti ||17||

jñānena paramātmatattvaprakāśe sati tadbuddhaya iti | tasmin jñānaprakāśite paramātmatattve saccidānandaghana eva bāhyasarvaviṣayaparityāgena sādhanaparipākātparyavasitā buddhirantaḥkaraṇavṛttiḥ sākṣātkāralakṣaṇā yeṣāṃ te tadbuddhayaḥ sarvadā nirbījasamādhibhāja ityarthaḥ | tatkiṃ boddhāro jīvā boddhavyaṃ brahmatattvamiti boddhṛboddhavyabhāvo hi māyāvijṛmbhito na vāstavābhedavirodhīti bhāvaḥ |

nanu tadātmāna iti viśeṣaṇaṃ vyartham | avidvadvyavartakaṃ hi vidvadviśeṣaṇam | ajñā api hi vastugatyā tadātmāna iti kathaṃ tadvyāvṛttiriti cet, na | itarātmatvavyāvṛttau tātparyāt | ajñā hi anātmabhūte dehādāvātmābhimānina iti na tadātmāna iti vyapadiśyante | vijñāstu nivṛttadehādyabhimānā iti virodhinivṛttyā tadātmāna iti vyapadiśyanta iti yuktaṃ viśeṣaṇam |

nanu karmānuṣṭhānavikṣepe sati kathaṃ dehādyabhimānanivṛttiriti tatrāha tanniṣṭhā iti | tasminneva brahmaṇi sarvakarmānuṣṭhānavikṣepanivṛttyā niṣṭhā sthitiryeṣāṃ te tanniṣṭhāḥ | sarvakarmasaṃnyāsena tadekavicāraparā ityarthaḥ | phalarāge sati kathaṃ tatsādhanabhūtakarmatyāga iti tatrāha tatparāyaṇāḥ | tadeva paramayanaṃ prāptavyaṃ yeṣāṃ te tatparāyaṇāḥ | sarvato viraktā ityarthaḥ |

atra tadbuddhaya ityanena sākṣātkāra uktaḥ | tadātmāna ityanātmābhimārūpaviparītabhāvanivṛttiphalako vedāntavicāraḥ śravaṇamananaparipākarūpaḥ | tatparāyaṇā ityanena vairāgyaprakarṣaṃ ityuttarottarasya pūrvapūrvahetutvaṃ draṣṭavyam | uktaviśeṣaṇā yatayo gacchantyapunarāvṛttiṃ punardehasambandhābhāvarūpāṃ muktiṃ prāpnuvanti | sakṛnmuktānāmapi punardehasambandhaḥ kuto na syāditi tatrāha jñānanirdhūtakalmaṣāḥ jñānena nirdhūtaṃ samūlamunmūlitaṃ punardehasambandhakāraṇaṃ kalmaṣaṃ puṇyapāpātmakaṃ karma yeṣāṃ te tathā | jñānenānādyajñānanivṛttyā

kintu vidyā jīvātmajñānameva prakāśayati, na tu paramātmajñānaṃ bhaktyāhamekayā grāhyaḥ iti bhagavadukteḥ | tasmātparamātmajñānārthaṃ jñānibhirapi punarviśeṣato bhaktiḥ kāryā ityata āha tadbuddhaya iti | tatpadena pūrvamupakrānto vibhuḥ parāmṛśyate | tasmin parameśvara eva buddhiryeṣāṃ te tammananaparā ityarthaḥ | tadātmānastanmanaskāstameva dhyāyanta ityarthaḥ | tanniṣṭhāḥ jñānaṃ mayi saṃnyasetiti bhagavadukteḥ | dehādyatiriktātmmajñāne'pi sāttvike niṣṭhāṃ parityajya tadekaniṣṭhāḥ | tatparāyaṇāstadīyaśravaṇakīrtanaparāḥ | yadvakṣyate

bhaktyā māmabhijānāti yāvān yaścāsmi tattvataḥ |
tato māṃ tattvato jñātvā viśate tadanantaram || [Gītā 18.55] iti |

jñānanirdhūtakalmaṣā jñānena vidyāyaiva pūrvameva dhvastasamastāvidyāḥ ||17||

paramātmanyavaiṣamyādidhyāyatāṃ phalamāha taditi | tasmiṃstadavaiṣamyādike guṇagaṇe buddhirniścayātmikā yeṣāṃ te | tadātmānastasminniviṣṭamanasaḥ tanniṣṭhāstattātparyavantastatparāyaṇāstatsamāśrayāḥ | evamabhyastena tadvaiṣamyādiguṇajñānena nirdhūtakalmaṣā vinaṣṭatadvaimukhyāḥ santa apunarāvṛttiṃ muktiṃ gacchantīti ||17||
