yāmimāṃ puṣpitāṃ vācaṃ pravadantyavipaścitaḥ |
vedavādaratāḥ pārtha nānyadastīti vādinaḥ ||42||
kāmātmānaḥ svargaparā janmakarmaphalapradām |
kriyāviśeṣabahulāṃ bhogaiśvaryagatiṃ prati ||43||
bhogaiśvaryaprasaktānāṃ tayāpahṛtacetasām |
vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ samādhau na vidhīyate ||44||

nanu kāmino'pi kaṣṭān kāmān vihāya vyavasāyātmikāmeva buddhiṃ kimiti na kurvanti | tatrāha yāmimāmityādi | yāmimāṃ puṣpitāṃ viṣalatāvadāpātaramaṇīyāṃ prakṛṣṭāṃ paramārthaphalaparāmeva vadanti vācaṃ svargādiphalaśrutim | teṣāṃ tayā vācā'pahṛtacetasāṃ vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ samādhau na vidhīyate iti tṛtīyenānvayaḥ | kimiti tathā vadanti | yato'vipaścito mūḍhāḥ | tatra hetuḥ vedavādaratā iti | vede ye vādā arthavādāḥ | akṣayyaṃ ha vai cāturmāsyayājinaḥ sukṛtaṃ bhavati | tathā, apāṃ somamamṛtā ambhūma ityādyāḥ

ataeva kāmātmāna iti | kāmātmānaḥ kāmākulitacittāḥ | ataḥ svarga eva paraḥ puruṣārtho yeṣāṃ te | janma ca tatra karmāṇi ca tatphalāni ca pradadātīti tathā | tāṃ bhogaiśvaryayorgatiṃ prāptiṃ prati sādhanabhūtā ye kriyāviśeṣāste bahulā yasyāṃ tāṃ pravadantītyanuṣaṅgaḥ ||43||

tataśca bhogaiśvaryaprasaktānāmityādi | bhogaiśvaryayoḥ prasaktānāmabhiniviṣṭānāṃ tayā puṣpitayā vācāpahṛtamākṛṣṭaṃ ceto yeṣāṃ teṣām | samādhiścittaikāgryam | parameśvarābhimukhatvamiti yāvat | tasminniścayātmikā buddhistu na vidhīyate | karmakartari prayogaḥ | notpadyata iti bhāvaḥ ||44||

avyavasayināmapi vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ kuto na bhavati pramāṇasya tulyatvādityāśaṅkya pratibandhakasadbhāvānna bhavatītyāha yāmimāmiti tribhiḥ | kuta evamata āha bhogaiśvaryagatiṃ prati kriyāviśeṣabahulāmamṛtapānorvaśīvihārapārijātaparimalādinibandhano yo bhogastatkāraṇaṃ ca yadaiśvaryaṃ devādisvāmitvaṃ tayorgatiṃ prāptiṃ prati sādhanabhūtā ye kriyāviśeṣā agnihotradarśapūrṇamāsajyotiṣṭomādayastairbahulāṃ vistṛtāmatibāhulyena bhogaiśvaryasādhanakriyākalāpapratipādikāmiti yāvat | karmakāṇḍasya hi jñānakāṇḍāpekṣayā sarvatrātivistṛtatvaṃ prasiddham | etādṛśīṃ karmakāṇḍalakṣaṇāṃ

ke ye'vipaścito vicārajanyatātparyaparijñānaśūnyāḥ | ataeva vedavādaratā vede ye santi vādā arthavādāḥ akṣayyaṃ ha vai cāturmāsyayājinaḥ sukṛtaṃ bhavati ityevamādayasteṣveva ratā vedārthasatyatvenaivamevaitaditi mithyāviśvāsena santuṣṭāḥ | he pārtha ! ataeva nānyadastītivādinaḥ karmakāṇḍāpekṣayā nāstyanyajjñānakāṇḍaṃ sarvasyāpi vedasya kāryaparatvāt | karmaphalāpekṣayā ca nāstyanyanniratiśayaṃ jñānaphalamiti vadanaśīlā mahatā prabandhena jñānakāṇḍaviruddhārthabhāṣiṇa ityarthaḥ | kuto mokṣadveṣiṇyaste ? yataḥ kāmātmānaḥ kāmyamānaviṣayaśatākulacittatvena
kāmamayāḥ | evaṃ sati mokṣamapi kuto na kāmayante ? yataḥ svargaparāḥ svarga evorvaśyādyapetatvena para utkṛṣṭo yeṣāṃ te tathā | svargātiriktaḥ puruṣārtho nāstīti bhrāmyanto vivekavairāgyābhāvānmokṣakathāmapi soḍhumakṣamā iti yāvat |

teṣāṃ ca pūrvoktabhogaiśvaryayoḥ prasaktānāṃ kṣayitvādidoṣādarśanena niviṣṭāntaḥkaraṇānāṃ tayā kriyāviśeṣabhulayā vācāpahṛtamācchāditaṃ ceto vivekajñānaṃ yeṣāṃ tathābhūtānāmarthavādāḥ stutyarthāstātparyaviṣaye pramāṇāntarābādhite vedasya prāmāṇyamiti suprasiddhamapi jñātumaśaktānāṃ samādhāvantaḥkaraṇe vayavasāyātmikā buddhirna vidhīyate na bhavatītyarthaḥ | samādhiviṣayā vyavasāyātmikā buddhisteṣāṃ na bhavatīti adhikaraṇe viṣaye sapatamyāstulyatvāt | vidhīyata iti karmakartari lakāraḥ | samādhīyate'smin sarvam

ayaṃ bhāvaḥ yadyapi kāmyānyagnihotrādīni śuddhyarthebhyo na viśiṣyante tathāpi phalābhisandhidoṣānnāśayaśuddhiṃ sampādayanti | bhogānuguṇā tu śuddhirna jñānopayoginī | etadeva darśayituṃ bhogaiśvaryaprasaktānāmiti punarupāttam | phalābhisandhimantareṇa tu kṛtāni jñānopayoginīṃ śuddhimādadhatīti siddhaṃ vipaścidavipaścitoḥ phalavailakṣaṇyam | vistareṇa caitadagre pratipādayiṣyate ||4244||

tasmādavyavasāyinaḥ sakāmakarmiṇastvatimandā ityāha yāmimāmiti | puṣpitāṃ vācaṃ puṣpitāṃ viphalatāmivāpātato ramaṇīyam | pravadanti prakarṣeṇa sarvataḥ prakṛṣṭā iyameva vedavāgiti ye vadanti, teṣāṃ tayā vācā apahṛtacetasāṃ ca vyavasāyātmikā buddhirna vidhīyate iti tṛtīyenānvayaḥ | teṣu tasyā asambhavātsā teṣu nopadiśyata ityarthaḥ | kimiti te tathā vadanti, yato'vipaścito mūrkhāḥ | tatra hetuḥ vedeṣu ye'rthavādāḥ akṣayyaṃ vai cāturmāsyayājinaḥ sukṛtaṃ bhavati, apāṃ somamamṛtā ambhūma ityādyāḥ

nanveṣāṃ vyavasāyātmikā buddhirbhavetśrutestaulyāditi ceccittadoṣānna bhavedityāha yāmiti tribhiḥ | avipaścito'lpajñāḥ yāmimāṃ jyotiṣṭomena svargakāmo yajetetyādikāṃ vācaṃ pravadanti iyameva prakṛṣṭā vedavāgiti kalpayanti | tayā vācāpahṛtacetasāṃ teṣāṃ samādhau manasi vyavasāyātmikā buddhirna vidhīyate nābhyudeti ityanuṣaṅgaḥ | kīdṛśīṃ vācamityāha puṣpitāmiti || kusumitaviṣalatāvadāpātamanojñāṃ niṣphalāmityarthaḥ | evaṃ kutaste vadanti tatrāha vedeti | vedeṣu ye vādāḥ apāṃ somamamṛtā
ambhūma, akṣayyaṃ ha vai cāturmāsyayājinaḥ sukṛtaṃ bhavati ityādayo'rthavādāsteṣveva ratāḥ vedasya satyabhāṣitvādevamevaitaditi pratītimantaḥ | ataeva nānyaditi karmaphalātsvargādanyatjīvāṃśiparamārthajñānaṃ labhyaṃ mokṣalakṣaṇaṃ niratiśayaṃ nityasukhaṃ nāsti | tatpratipādikānāṃ vedāntavācāṃ karmāṅgakartṛdevatādekatayā taccheṣatvāditi vadanaśīlā ityarthaḥ ||42||

cittadoṣamāha kāmātmānaḥ vaiṣayikasukhavāsanāgrastacittāḥ | evaṃ cettādṛśaṃ mokṣaṃ kuto necchanti tatrāha svargeti | svarga eva sudhā devāṅganādyupetatvena paraḥ śreṣṭho yeṣāṃ te | tādṛgvāsanāgrastatvātteṣāṃ nānyadbhāṣata ityarthaḥ | janma karmeti janma ca dehendriyasambandhalaksaṇaṃ, tatra karma ca tattadvarṇāśramavihitaṃ, phalaṃ ca vināśipaśvannasvargādi | tāni prakarṣeṇāvicchedena dadāti tāṃ bhogaiśvaryayorgatiṃ prāptiṃ prati ye kriyāviśeṣā jyotiṣṭpmādayaste bahulāḥ pracurā yatra tāṃ vācaṃ
vadantīti pūrveṇānvayaḥ | bhogaḥ sudhāpānadevāṅganādiḥ, aiśvaryaṃ ca devādisvāmitvaṃ tayorgatimityarthaḥ ||43||

bhogeti teṣāṃ pūrvoktayorbhogaiśvaryayoḥ prasaktānāṃ kṣayitvadoṣāsphūrtyā tayorabhiniviṣṭānāṃ tayā puṣpitayā vācāpahṛtaṃ viluptaṃ ceto vivekajñānaṃ yeṣāṃ tādṛśānāṃ samādhāviti yo'yam | samyagādhīyate'sminnātmatattvayāthātmyamiti nirukteḥ samādhirmanastasminnityarthaḥ ||44||
