doṣe-viṣamajvarakāriṇi, kṣīṇe sati, satatakādijvaraḥ sūkṣmo bhūtvā rasādiṣveva dhātuṣu līyate-layaṃ yāti| kathaṃ punaretadavagamyate? yadasau līno na punarvinaṣṭa eva, ityatra hetumāha-līnatvādityādi| sa tu līno jvaro līnatvāt kārśyādīn karoti| ata evāsau na vinaṣṭa evetyucyate| yataḥ kārśyādyudgama upalabhyate| niranvayavinaṣṭāddhi taddhetukārśyādyanupalabdhireva| tasmāllīno doṣo viṣamajvareṣu bhavatīti sthitam|

viṣamajvarasya santatanivṛttirnāstītyāha-kṣīṇe doṣa iti| rasagrahaṇaṃ santatasyāpi madhyame līnatvamastīti jñāpanārtham| anenaivābhiprāyeṇa rugviniścaye (mā. ni. jva.

ślo. 32) - " dhātumanyatamaṃ prāpya karoti viṣamajvaram|" ityupakramya "santataṃ rasaraktasthaḥ" ityuktam| ādadhāti-karoti| caturthakātparaṃ viṣamasambhave saṅgrahe yuktiruktā (ni. a. 2) - "atilīno'timandatvādbhavatyahni na pañcame|"iti|

āsannaṃ vivṛtaṃ cāsyaṃ-mukhaṃ, yeṣāṃ rasavāhināṃ srotasāṃ tānyevam| teṣāṃ bhāva āsannavivṛtāsyatvam| tasmāddhetostatra praviṣṭena doṣeṇa śīghraṃ sarvasya vapuṣaḥ-śarīrasya, vyāptirjāyate| tena-kāraṇena doṣeṇāśu sarvaśarīravyāptilakṣaṇena, santatākhyo jvaraḥ satatonirantaro, bhavati| viparītaḥ prakṛtatvātsantatena viṣamoviṣamasaṃjñaḥ, satatādijvaro viparīto bhavati-na nirantaraṃ jvarayati| kasmādviparītaḥ? viparyayāt| etaduktaṃ bhavati,-sthūlānyāsannāni vivṛtāsyāni ca rasavāhīni srotāṃsi| dūratarāṇi saṃvṛtāsyāni sūkṣmatarāṇi ca raktavāhīni| tairdoṣaścireṇa tathā asākalyena kāyaṃ vyāpnuvan vicchinnakālaṃ jvaraṃ karoti| ata evāha (ślo. 70)- "ahorātrasya sa dviḥ syāt"ityādi| tato dūratarāṇi saṃvṛtatarāsyāni ca māṃsavāhīni srotāṃsi| tāni ciratareṇa prāpnoti doṣaḥ| na caitaiḥ srotobhiḥ sākalyena yugapaddehamanuvyāpnoti| ato'nena kāraṇenāsāvanyasmin dine jvaraṃ nirvartayatyanyedyuḥsaṃjñam| tenāsau satatādapi viprakṛṣṭo bhavati| tato'pi sūkṣmatarāṇi saṃvṛtataramukhāni ca medovahāni| tāni ciratareṇa doṣaḥ prāpnoti| na ca tairaśeṣadehaṃ vyāpnoti| ato'sāvanena kāraṇena yathākramamanyadinamekaṃ hitvā tṛtīye'hni tṛtīyako bhavati| tato'pyanenaiva viprakṛṣṭatamena krameṇa dinadvayaṃ hitvā caturthako bhavati| evaṃ caturthakaviparyayaśca| saṅgrahe'pyākhyat (ni. a. 2)- "sūkṣmasūkṣmatarāsyeṣu dūradūratareṣu ca| doṣo raktādimārgeṣu śanairalpaścireṇa yat|| yāti dehaṃ ca nāśeṣaṃ bhūyiṣṭhaṃ bheṣaje'pi ca| kramo'yaṃ tena vicchinnasantāpo lakṣyate jvaraḥ||" iti| adhunā viṣamajvarasya svarūpaṃ pratipādayannāha-viṣama iti| viṣamo-viṣamasaṃjño jvaro, viṣamārambhakriyākālo bhavati| ārambhaśca kriyā ca kālaśca ārambhakriyākālāḥ| viṣamā ārambhakriyākālā yasya sa evam| tatra viṣama ārambho yathā,-kaścitpūrvaṃ mūrdhānamārabhyāgacchati, kaścitpṛṣṭham, kaścijjaṅghābhyāmiti| viṣamakriyo yathā,-kaścicchītakṛt, kaściddāhakṛditi| viṣamakālaśca yathā,-kaścitpūrvāhṇe samāgacchati, kaścinmadhyāhne, kaścidaparāhṇe, kaścinniśīthe, iti| tathā, anuṣaṅgavān-dīrghakālānubandhī|
