malā jvaraṃ kuryuḥ-utpādayeyuḥ| kīdṛśāḥ? dhātvādisrotasāṃ vyāpinaḥ| dhātavaśca mūtraṃ ca śakṛcca tāni vahanti nityaṃ yāni srotāṃsi teṣāṃ| malā ityanenaitaddyotayati| yadaiva vātādayo malinīkaraṇasvabhāvāḥ syustadā santataṃ jvaraṃ kuryuḥ, na tu doṣarūpā dhāturūpā | tathā, sarvāṃ-aśeṣāṃ, tanuṃ tāpayantaḥ-santāpādinā pīḍayantaḥ, na punaḥ santāpamātramutpādayantaḥ| tathā, tulyaiḥ-samānaiḥ, dūṣyādibhirvarddhitāḥ-vṛddhiṃ nītāḥ| ādiśabdena deśartuprakṛtayo gṛhyante| dūṣyāḥrasādidhātavaḥ| te ca trayāṇāmapi doṣāṇāṃ yathāyathaṃ tulyatvādvarddhanahetavaḥ| deśartuprakṛtayastu tulyakālaṃ malaiḥ sarvairatulyā api bhavanti| prāyeṇaikaikasya malasya caikaiko deśo ṛturvā prakṛtirvā tulyā bhavati| ataḥ "tulyadūṣyādivarddhitāḥ" ityuktam| tathā ca, dhanvadeśo vātasyaiva vṛddhihetuḥ, tulyatvāt; kaphasya tvatulyatvātkṣapaṇahetuḥ| ānupastulyatvāt kaphasya vṛddhihetuḥ, vātasya tvasamānatvātkṣapaṇahetuḥ| ṛtāvapyevaṃ cintyam| prakṛtistrayāṇāṃ doṣāṇāṃ tulyakālaṃ vṛddhiheturna sambhavati, viṣamadoṣajanitatvāt| ye tvevamavocan,-samākhyā prakṛtistulyatvādeṣāṃ malānāmatra jvare varddhanaheturiti| te'pi maivaṃ vocante(vacantvi)ti vacanīyāḥ| yato rogajananonmukhānāṃ doṣāṇāṃ nāsau vṛddhihetuḥ, ārogyalakṣaṇatvāt| kimbhūtā doṣāḥ? balinaḥ, pratipakṣairakhaṇḍitaśaktitvāt| tathā guravaḥ, sāmatvāt| stabdhāḥ-niścalāḥ, ūrdhvamadhaścāniḥsaraṇāt| viśeṣeṇa rasāśritāḥ| viśeṣagrahaṇaṃ malānāṃ sarvadhātvāśritatvaṃ dyotayati| sakaladhātusamāśritā api bhavanti| atiśayena rasākhyaṃ dhātumāśrityaite santataṃ kuryuḥ| tathā, niṣpratidvandvāḥpratyanīkarahitāḥ| kīdṛśaṃ jvaram? suṣṭhu duḥkhenakṛcchreṇa, soḍhuṃ śakyata iti suduḥsaham|

jvarasyoṣmā-analadharmaḥ sakalavastukṣapaṇasvabhāvaḥ, sa kadācittathābhūtādadṛṣṭavaśādasmin jvare dhātumalayorekalolībhūtay vātaviḍādikaṃ, kṣapayet| tathābhūtādadṛṣṭasāmarthyāddhātūnvārasādīn, kṣapayet| śīghraṃ-āśveva, na tu cireṇa kālena atra ca malakṣapaṇodyato'yaṃ jvaroṣmā na dhātukṣapaṇodyata iti nirāmalakṣaṇena vijñāyate| tatra caitannirāmalakṣaṇam'asaṃrodhasnotastvaṃ saprāṇatvamaṅgalāghavaṃ vātānulomanatvaṃ vāgdehamanaśceṣṭāsvanālasyamagnidīptatvaṃ viśadāsyatvaṃ mūtrapurīṣādimalapravartanatvaṃ kṣudupagamo nirglānitā' ityevaṃ kiñcidutpadyamānamupalabhya niścīyate jvaroṣmaṇo malakṣapaṇodyatatvam| etallakṣaṇaviparyayeṇa doṣopakramaṇīyoktena (hṛ. sū. a. 13|23) - "srotorodha" ityādinā sāmalakṣaṇamavagamya niścīyate, yathā'yaṃ jvaroṣmā dhātukṣapaṇodyata iti| sa ityanuvartate| tataḥtasmānmaladhātukṣapaṇāt kāraṇāt, rasādīnāṃ-dhātumūtraśakṛddoṣāṇāṃ dvādaśānāmpyekalolībhūtānāṃ, sarvākāraṃ-niḥśeṣaṃ kṛtvā, śuddhyā-jvaroṣmaṇā niṣpāditayā nirmalatayā, vātapittakaphairbhūyiṣṭhairekaikaśa utpannaḥ sa santato jvaraḥ prāyo mokṣāya-jvaramuktaye, maryādāṃ-avadhiṃ, 20
