śastre'vacārite-nyaste sati, vāgbhiḥ-tatkālocitārbhirmadhurābhiḥ 'svastho jāto'si' ityevaṃprāyābhiḥ, tathā śītāmbhobhiḥpariṣekādibhiḥ, āturamāśvāsya, anantaraṃ vraṇaṃ paritaḥsamantāt, aṅgulyā paripīḍya-pūyādidoṣaṃ nirhārya, anantaraṃ kaṣāyeṇa-madhuyaṣṭyādisādhitena, kṣālayitvā, 5 tataḥ plotenakārpāsādijavastrakhaṇḍena, jalamapanīyapānīyārdratāṃ nirhṛtya, anantaraṃ vraṇaṃ guggulvādibhirnimbapatrāntairdhūpayet| kimbhūtaiḥ? ghṛtaplutaiḥ|plutagrahaṇādbahughṛtairiti dyotayati| saṅgrahe coktam (sū. a. 38)- "guggulvādibhirevaṃ śayanāsanādi dvirahno dhūpayet|" iti| tataḥ-anantaraṃ, vartiṃ-kārpāsādimayīṃ, vraṇāntardadyāt-praveśayet, vaidyaḥ| kimbhūtām? digdhām| kaiḥ? tilakalkājyamadhubhiḥ,-vātavraṇe tilapiṣṭadigdhāṃ, pittavraṇe ghṛtadigdhāṃ, kaphavraṇe madhudigdhām| kecittu sarvaireva tairyugapaddigdhāmityāhuḥ| na ca kevalaṃ tilādibhiḥ, yāvat yathāsvaṃyat yasya doṣasya svaṃ bheṣajaṃ, tena ca digdhām| taireva-tilakalkādibhiḥ, vraṇāntaḥpraviṣṭāṃ tāṃ-vartiṃ, ācchhādayet-sthagayet| ūrdhvaṃ-tadupariṣṭāt, ghṛtayuktaiḥ saktubhirācchhādayet| saṅgrahe coktam (sū. a. 38)"nātibhṛṣṭayavasaktubhirghṛtāktairbhājanānte'mbhasā dakṣiṇāṅgulībhiḥ sumṛditairavacchhādya" iti| tato-vraṇāntaḥpraviṣṭavarticchhādanādanantaraṃ, kavalikāṃ-bahuvastrakhaṇḍapuṭanirvart nidhāya-saṃsthāpya, paṭṭena-nibiḍavastrakhaṇḍena, prakṛtatvāt vraṇaṃ badhnīyāt| katham? yuktyā-doṣakālānuguṇayā| ata eva saṅgrahe jagāda (sū.a.38)-"vātaśleṣmodbhavāṃstatra dvistrirvā veṣṭayedvraṇān| sakṛdeva parikṣapya pittaraktābhighātajān|| śastrakṣatarujāyāṃ tu pratatāyāṃ yaṣṭīmadhukasarpiṣoṣṇena vraṇaṃ siñcet| udakumbhāccāpo gṛhītvā prokṣayan parita upacaret|" iti| kathaṃ badhnīyāt? susamāhitaṃ kṛtvā-nāvahelayā, vāmapārśve dakṣiṇapārśve | adhastāt na badhnīyāt, naiva copari-ūrdhvaṃ, badhnīyāt, naiva copari-ūrdhvaṃ, badhnīyāt|

pāṭanānantaraṃ kartavyamāha-śastra iti| sarjaraso-rālaḥ| ṣaṅgranthā-vacā| yathāsvaṃ [bheṣajena ]-yasmin vraṇe yadbheṣajamuktaṃ tena| cahabdaḥ samuccaye| digdhāṃlitpām| taiḥ-vartilepauṣadhaiḥ| taṃ-vraṇam| ūrdhvaṃ pūrvalepasya, ghṛtāktasaktulepaḥ| saṅgrahe tu (sū. a. 28)" nātibhṛṣṭayavasaktubhirghṛtāktairbhājanānte'mbhasā dakṣiṇāṅgulībhiḥ sumṛditaiḥ"iti| kavalikāṃ-vastrakhaṇḍamayīṃ pālīm| paṭṭena-ghanavasnakhaṇḍena| susamāhitaṃ-suṣṭu sanniviṣṭaṃ yathā bhavati tathā| pārśve bandhīyātgranthiṃ dadyāt| saṅgahe tu (sū. a. 38)- "vātaśleṣmodbhavāṃstatra dvisnirvā veṣṭayehraṇān| sakṛdeva parikṣipya pittaraktābhighātajān|| sastrakṣatarujāyāṃ u pratatāyāṃ yaṣṭimadhukasarpiṣoṣṇena vraṇaṃ siñcet|" iti|
