pṛthivyādibhirmahābhūtairdvayolbaṇaiḥ-hyādhikaiḥ, kramātparipāṭyā, yathāsaṅkhyamityarthaḥ, madhurādīnāṃ ṣaṇṇāṃ rasānāmudbhavo-abhinivṛttirbhavati| dvayamulbaṇaṃ yeṣu bhūteṣu tāni dvayolbaṇāni, taiḥ dvayolbaṇaiḥ| dvayolbaṇaśabdopādānācca dravyavadrasasyāpi pāñcabhautikatvamiti pratipādayati| katamat punarbhūtadvayaṃ katamasmin rase'dhikamārambhakaṃ syāditi yathāsaṅkhyena darśayannāha-kṣmāmbha ityādi| bhūmijalābhyāmadhikābhyāṃ madhuraḥ, kṣmāgnibhyāmamlaḥ, ambvagnibhyāṃ lavaṇaḥ, khavāyubhyāṃ tiktakaḥ. agnivāyubhyāṃ kaṭukaḥ, kṣmānilābhyāṃ kaṣāyaḥ| nanu, yathā bhūmitoyādhikyānmadhuraḥ, evamambuvāyvādhikyādanyo bhūmyākāśādhikyādanya ityevamādivikalpairasaṅkhyeyarasaprasaṅgaḥ prāpnoti| atrocyate| svabhāvādadoṣaḥ| eṣāṃ bhūmyākāśādīnāmīdṛśaḥ svabhāvo yatkenacideva bhūtādhikyena vyavasthitāni bhūmyādīni rasāntarotpādanasamarthāni bhavanti, na sarveṇeti|
