yavagodhūmayorbhuktayoranu-paścāt, pānaṃ śītaṃ jalaṃ hitam| tathā, dadhni madye viṣe kṣaudre ca himaṃ jalamanupāne hitam| piṣṭamayeṣu koṣṇaṃ jalaṃ hitam| śākamudgādivikṛtau ca mastvādikaman upānaṃ hitam| kṛśānāṃ puṃsāṃ surā puṣṭyarthaṃ hitā| sthūlānāṃ punaḥ karśanāya madhūdakaṃ hitam| śoṣe-kṣaye, māṃsaraso hitaḥ, puṣṭikāritvāt| māṃse bhukte madyamanupānaṃ hitam| svalpe ca pāvake madyamevānupānaṃ hitam| vyādhyādibhiḥ kṣīṇekṣapite, payo-dugdhaṃ, pathyaṃ-hitam| iha (hitamiti) prakṛte'pi pathyagrahaṇaṃ pathyataratvajñāpanārtham| yathā'mṛtamityanenaitat pratipādayati,-yathā'mṛtaṃ balavarṇaujaḥkāntyāyurādijanakaṃ tathedamapītyarthaḥ|
