madhu cakṣuṣe hitam| tathā, chedi-ubhayathā''aścotanavraṇalepādāvupayuk tathā'bhyavahāraviṣaye'pi| taikṣṇyādyo dehe piṇḍitān bhāvān chinatti-vibhajati, sa chedīti kathyate| tathā, tṛḍādinut mehādijiditi ca prāyeṇābhyavahāraviṣaya eva| vraṇānāṃ śodhanaṃ sandhānaṃ ropaṇaṃ ca| śodhanaṃyat pūyapaicchilyādiprerakam| sandhānaṃ-yad dvau vraṇau caikīkaroti| ropaṇaṃ-suprasiddham| etacca kāryaṃ bāhyaviṣayamevāsya vedyam| tathā, vātalametaccāsya bāhyopayogenābhyantaropayogena ca, ante vyastaśrutatvāt| "cakṣuṣyaṃ chedi" ityādinā'sya madhunaḥ karmanirdeśaḥ| "rūkṣaṃ kaṣāyamadhuraṃ" ityanenāsya svarūpanirdeśaḥ| lāghavāccātra granthakāreṇaitadbhedādi noktam| tathā hyayameva tantrakāraḥ saṅgrahe

madhuguṇānāha-cakṣuṣyamiti| yatsaṃhatān kaphādīn viśleṣayati tat-chedi| śodhanaṃ-duṣṭapūyādinirharaṇam|

sandhānaṃ-vicchinnāsthyādisaṃśleṣakam| ropaṇaṃ-kṣīṇamāṃsādivardhanam nanu, iha vātalaṃ suśrutavākye tridoṣaśamanamiti virodhaḥ| maivam| viṣayabhedāt| yatra śuddho vāyuḥ śuddhaṃ madhu, tatra vātalatvam| yatra vātaghātibhirmiśraṃ madhu pittādyairvyāmiśro vāyuḥ, tatra vātaghnatvam| ubhayoryogavāhitvāt| suśrutena hi pittaśleṣmaghnatvaṃ paṭhitvā tridoṣaśamanatvaṃ paṭhatā pittaśleṣmāṇau śuddhau vātamiśrau , vāyu tu miśrameva madhu hantīti dyotitam| yacca carakeṇa madhuno gurutvamuktaṃ suśrutena laghutvamuktam, tatra gurutvaṃ guṇena, laghutvaṃ pākenetyavirodhaḥ| carako hi gurulaghuguṇāvevecchati| suśrutastu pākāvapi| tatra yaccireṇa pacyate tadguruguṇam, yacchīghraṃ tallaghuguṇam, yatpakvaṃ viṇmūtre sṛjati śleṣmāṇaṃ karoti tadgurupākam, yadviṇmūtre gṛhṇāti vāyuṃ karoti tallaghupākam| madhuśarkarāguṇānāha-tattulyeti| tattulyāmadhusadṛśaguṇā| vahnipākātkālapākādvā śarkarārūpatāṃ gataṃ madhu-madhuśarkarā|
